As @miss_jwo pointed out in today’s Community Chat there are going to be a whole lot of us present for WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. We are translating the Organizing Handbooks to Spanish and “re-designing” the Get Involved section of the Spanish MetaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress..

I’m not going to be at WCEUWCEU WordCamp Europe. The European flagship WordCamp event., but if I can still suggest some additional ideas, they would be:

I agree that a review of the handbooks/documentation would also be great, especially a read-through of the language to remove any unintentionally US-centric terminology. I think training folks to vet applications will also be wonderfully valuable, as would working on translations. All of the things! 😉

Can i also suggest what im gonna call ( and badly name ) : Local Community Support Session. The idea is that people bring their community relatied issues, and we trouble shoot through as many as we can.

Some can take place as a open discussions so everyone can learn about, some will be tech issues, and there is the potential that some will need just one on one time with someone to hear their thoughts.

If we do this, I woudl suggest anyone with a issue writes it down on a post it note, then whom ever is leading can organise them quickly into converstations that can be public, quick wins and scheduled discussions.

Handbook: for the Italian community, the stand-alone Contributor Day in Milano was an importatn turning point so I’d love to encourage communities to do that 🙂

Also: work on a repo for flyers, wapuus and other materials we think we could use to onboard and outreach. Now they are a bit scattered and it would be great to have them all in the WordPress GitHubGitHub GitHub is a website that offers online implementation of git repositories that can easily be shared, copied and modified by other developers. Public repositories are free to host, private repositories require a paid subscription. GitHub introduced the concept of the ‘pull request’ where code changes done in branches by contributors can be reviewed and discussed before being merged be the repository owner. https://github.com/ with links from the handbook.
