Change in Meetup Group Transfer Process

There has been a change in the way we transfer MeetupMeetup All local/regional gatherings that are officially a part of the WordPress world but are not WordCamps are organized through https://www.meetup.com/. A meetup is typically a chance for local WordPress users to get together and share new ideas and seek help from one another. Searching for ‘WordPress’ on meetup.com will help you find options in your area. groups to the chapter account that requires the newly nominated organizer to be selected from those members who have attended Meetup events already. We can get around this by having WordPress be promoted to the role of co-organizer first, but we’ve asked the kind people at Meetup if they will change that process for groups like ours.

We’d like them to change it back to the old way so that we don’t all have to deal with that extra step in the process. We will keep you posted on progress.
