Team chat agenda November 13 2014 1st Now…

Team chat agenda, November 13, 2014

1st — Now that we have a bunch of organized projects within the team, each of which is going to set up its own regular meeting/office hoursOffice Hours Defined times when the Global Community Team are in the #community-events Slack channel. If there is anything you would like to discuss – you do not need to inform them in advance. You are very welcome to drop into any of the Community Team Slack channels at any time., maybe we should scrap our 1st/2nd/etc weekly topic and use this weekly meeting for general housekeeping and catch-up among all the project teams?

2nd — Gah, summit notes. It’s on me, not the people who volunteered to help get them posted. The survey has gone out, and the schedule of all discussion groups got posted, so now there’s something to link to. Will start transferring notes over to the volunteers to get them posted.

3rd — Jenny Wong is still in transit for a few more days, so meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. hub talk could be postponed one more week until she’s back.

4th — Safe space. On our team more than any other, the concept of having a safe space to talk about sensitive issues in a not-public/not-logged way is important. Without having some kind of safe space, sensitive issues get dealt with behind closed doors with only a couple of people rather than including all the trusted members of the team. In most cases it would be better to have more people in on an issue, there’s just no graceful way to do so while retaining people’s privacy. I’d like to propose that when there’s something that would be best served by being discussed in a safe space where confidentiality is agreed upon, we do a video chat.

5th — There are a few of sensitive issues that Andrea and I would like to discuss with the team today for anyone who has access to hangout or zoom (ie can get streaming video/audio where you’ll be around meeting time), so after we get through our usual text-based meeting, if you want an invitation to the ‘sensitive topics’ call, leave a comment saying as much. 🙂

Note: people we would like on the video call if available would include folks doing WC site/GPLGPL GPL is an acronym for GNU Public License.
