Some WordCamp Maine videos are in the Pending queue and WordCamp Cape Town has started to upload some videos and some videos from WordCamp Europe are starting to be uploaded.

There were 4 videos that did not get published this week because of technical problems in the videos. We did publish 20 videos from 4 WordCamps from around the world. Hey guys,

Just to give you some context regarding the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Cape Town videos that we’re uploading at the moment – we’re actually uploading last year’s WordCamp videos. The reason for the huge delay is that your video submission form uses a standard HTMLHTML HTML is an acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is a markup language that is used in the development of web pages and websites. upload field, which “always* times out on any normal internet connection in South Africa (we see a 4mbps connection is really quite fast). The good thing is that we (WooThemes) recently moved to a new office with decent internet (40mbps) so I’m able to upload videos without the form timing out on me. It’s still slow and doesn’t always work, but it gets there some of the time.

We still have 6 more videos to upload from last year (which I’ll continue with next time I’m in the office, which is only every now and then) and then this year’s WordCamp is coming up next week Thursday, so we’ll start uploading those videos in the week or two after that.

It would be pretty great if you updated your video submission form to use an ajax uploader (or something like that) because then countries like South Africa (pretty much any non-US and non-EU country) will be able to upload videos much more easily on any normal internet connection 🙂

Thanks for the update Michael. Always appreciated. As moderators, are we supposed to be checking / moderating the Comments on the WPTV site?

  Sure, as far as I know, you can check the comments. I check them when I get a chance (mostly to delete the spam). If you have any doubts about approving or not approving a comment just leave it and someone will come along and take care of it.

It would be very nice if someone could take a look at the following video. There are two things where i am unsure. One is the audio. it is very bad, but i think it is good enough for the attendees who missed this session at their WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more.. The other one appears at 3:30. The first Word on the screen was not typed correctly. Is it in such a case ok, or does it even fails wherever it appears? Thank you very much for your help!

  I see what you mean by the incorrect spelling. I could correct that with an edit but even with the spelling issue the audio is very rough, the speaker was too close to the mic and it is constant through the video – very annoying.

    Michael, thank you very much! Yes, the audio is very poor, but if we decline this one i think we have to decline all the other videos from this Event because they are all quite similar. If you want to do the edit it would be very cool, but i think you have to decide it … 😉

      Done, not the best but we did save it from the trashTrash Trash in WordPress is like the Recycle Bin on your PC or Trash in your Macintosh computer. Users with the proper permission level (administrators and editors) have the ability to delete a post, page, and/or comments. When you delete the item, it is moved to the trash folder where it will remain for 30 days. bin.

Thanks for the update, these are really great, only started reading them last week.

Just fyi, we have 12 more videos from WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Europe ready to be published. We’re preparing the rest, but have to import slides into some of them.

I wonder what would be better for you and the moderators? Uploading them at the same time or one/two per day?

  Whatever is best for you. We can handle either way since the Pending queue does not have many videos to moderator.
