WordPress.tv Moderator Squad Update

This has been a week of moderating and publishing a wide variety of videos on WordPressTV.

In addition to publishing the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. videos from around the world, we published some meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook. videos, some WordCamp Organizers videos and several how-to videos.

A new “Subtitles” tags was added to help find the videos that have been subtitled (older subtitled videos may not have this new tag).

And a new “moderator tools” tag was added for the videos with information for WordPressTV moderators and WordCamp organizers.

In The Last 7 Days:

There were 30 videos published from 7 different WordCamps worldwide.

The most visitors on any one day this week was 2,374.

Want to learn about WordPress and get familiar with the lingo?
Pick a video and subtitle or translate it. I can assure you that you will pickup the lingo and ideas and retain that information better than simply listening to or reading the same information.

Can there be 2 tags: “subtitles” for videos that have subtitles in a different language than the language the presentation was given in and “captions” for captions done in the same language as the presentation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing folks? My Deaf friend schooled me on the difference recently 🙂

  TIL the difference too. Sounds like a great idea, so I will review the few videos we have subtitles/captions for, and sort them out. 🙂

Would be nice to add a “Recorded Date” to go along with the “Published Date”, just watched a video published on 18th August 2014, I have a sneaking suspicion that it is quite a few months old and without that context it is kind of confusing.

Hey there, I recently uploaded the first two videos from WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. Vancouver. There were slightly bigger then then the 1 gig limit. Can you check to see if they made it through? If not I will have someone downsize all the videos.
