As a mod-noob (hey, cool word) i asked me how to proceed in such a case:
In a video of the WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. OK, i asked him if he really knows it and of course he was surprised of that and he asked me to eleminate this key and also his email-address. Now what is the next step?
Is it sufficient to inform the uploader and delete the file so he can upload a fixed version?
Do we have to reject the video? Or is he able to change the file by himself?

  Yes this is the best way, so every edit/ blur / etc. will look the same!
  Is there a practical workfow at this time? I am thinking about tagging the file as “NEEDS EDIT”. So we also need something like a comment field only in the backend for further instructions.

    One thing we will need (as we roll out central processing) is documentation for new mods on how to perform edits.
    
    Ideally anything we do would be very simple so it would take as little skill as possible; anyone with a computer and a few minutes should be able to do this, rather than requiring a staff of video experts. 🙂

      Yes, i also know what to do, but please don’t laugh … here ~40km from the capitol of lower saxony there is only the possibility for a bandwith of 3mbits 🙁
      So if i download the 800 MB and upload again it must run over night 🙂

      well certain things like blurring can only be simplified so much. also steps for things like that would be highly dependent on software used. i do think that a sort of editing style guide is highly desirable and it probably would not need much to it. for example, i’d think all edits should be cuts besides maybe the intro/outro or b-roll (in cases which b-roll is even used) which just be a simple 1 second cross fade (1 sec is typically the default) we should also have very simple and clear guidelines for titles and/or one person specifically responsible for producing them in the case that is too much to handle for “anyone”

        I am inclined to agree that cuts would be the easiest, and in any event these situations would be fairly infrequent. At least in my experience most videos can be made ready to publish with little more than some trimming and a title slide.
        
        Also I agree that a simple style guide, as well as process/software instructions (all of which we currently lack) would be very helpful.

      The new video is in the queue. Can you take a look and make sure I got it all? It was easier to do a zoom on the email address since he was scrolling the screen.

        I think you created a new post and tagged the old one with DUPLICATE VIDEO. But in the new post you can only see the shortcodeShortcode A shortcode is a placeholder used within a WordPress post, page, or widget to insert a form or function generated by a plugin in a specific location on your site. in the content area, but above there is no video-player.

        Yes, to get the default screen with the player you will need to change the author to WordPress.tv and Save.
