Hi wptv mods! Here Manuel from Switzerland, I just joined the moderation team upon Andreas invitation.

As my first contribution, I just fixed the title and description of this video. And also added the link to the slides.

What’s the policy regarding the slugs? Can I update the slug as well?

PS: while looking around, I also did a little cleanup with the language tags. There was a video with “Englshi” as language, and another with “Eng”, which I moved to English, and then removed the redundant tags.

I have a couple newbie questions, for instance: is it possible to “replace” a video with an updated version, while keeping the original article?
Another thing: I fixed a typo in the description of this video, and noticed that audio is missing at the beginning : http://wordpress.tv/2014/02/25/panel-the-state-of-multilingual-wordpress/ � What can be done?

For instance if a talk is about MultisiteMultisite Multisite is a WordPress feature which allows users to create a network of sites on a single WordPress installation. Available since WordPress version 3.0, Multisite is a continuation of WPMU or WordPress Multiuser project. WordPress MultiUser project was discontinued and its features were included into WordPress core.https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network., would that be a TagTag Tag is one of the pre-defined taxonomies in WordPress. Users can add tags to their WordPress posts along with categories. However, while a category may cover a broad range of topics, tags are smaller in scope and focused to specific topics. Think of them as keywords used for topics discussed in a particular post. or a Flavour? 🙂

Think of them as keywords used for topics discussed in a particular post. field is the best choice, as it is displayed on the video page. TBH the true function of the “flavour” metatag is not known to me, but as it is not displayed on the front end of the site so my guess it the theme uses it somehow.

      Yep, that’s also what I guessed.
      But it would be good to check with people “in the know”, so that we can remove from the interface any metadata that’s not used � this will make the process easier for new mods!

  Yes, you can upload a replacement video directly to the wordpress.tv media library. From there, edit the post that has the original video, and replace the shortcodeShortcode A shortcode is a placeholder used within a WordPress post, page, or widget to insert a form or function generated by a plugin in a specific location on your site. you see there with the new one from your recent upload.

  When I checked this, for me at least there was no audio at all. However, I was able to dig up the original HD upload so I am going to re-upload it.
  
  About the missing audio, ideally we would catch this prior to publication and try to contact the WC organizers to see if we can get a better copy somehow. In this case though, probably the only thing we can do is note in the description text that there is some audio missing.
  
  In this case, I will likely edit it out, as it is a small part of the overall session.
