GSoC/OPW ends soon (pencils down 9/16, complete stop 9/23, evaluations due 9/27). I’m reaching out to all mentorsEvent SupporterEvent Supporter (formerly Mentor) is someone who has already organised a WordCamp and has time to meet with their assigned mentee every 2 weeks, they talk over where they should be in their timeline, help them to identify their issues, and also identify solutions for their issues. and students today to make sure everyone is on track for an on-time finish. Will be asking each student to spend the week between pencils down and hard stop creating a screencasted demo of their project like we’ve done in past years to share with the community, and to clean up their documentation if they let it slide during the coding period.
To keep track of who has sent back their check-in responses, here’s the list.
Ryan McCue, JSONJSONJSON, or JavaScript Object Notation, is a minimal, readable format for structuring data. It is used primarily to transmit data between a server and web application, as an alternative to XML.-based REST APIREST APIThe REST API is an acronym for the RESTful Application Program Interface (API) that uses HTTP requests to GET, PUT, POST and DELETE data. It is how the front end of an application (think “phone app” or “website”) can communicate with the data store (think “database” or “file system”) https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/.
