Greetings WordPress tv moderators I’ve had email exchanges…

(Note: Post originally by cherilucas, imported from old wordpress.tv mod blog.)

Greetings, WordPress.tv moderators. I’ve had email exchanges with some of you, but for those I haven’t met, hello — I’m on Editorial at WP.com and try to keep an eye on and post to the WP.tv blog periodically. My plan is to check in every few months to see what’s new, but feel free to reach out anytime (cheri@automattic.com or pingPing The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point. Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it’s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of “Ping me when the meeting starts.” me here) if you’ve got announcements or post ideas for the blog.

I’d planned to do more moderator Q&As to a) introduce you all and b) share your “best practices” for creating content for WP.tv, but we can move on from this format if no one else is interested.

That said, I still would love to gather more feedback that may be helpful for people submitting videos for review:

  • As moderators, do you have additional tips on creating the best content possible, to supplement the Submission Guidelines page? Feel free to leave any notes here.
  • Are there videos you’ve published on WP.tv that you consider exemplary? Feel free to leave links to these videos in the comments — perhaps we can showcase them in a post to illustrate what works!

If any of you have additional ideas for the blog, just holler. Thanks!
