I added slides and pushed two out to the site today, BTW, in case you’re wondering why a few of them disappeared. 🙂

  No problem! I’ve been watching the videos first and then going back and grabbing the slides as I find them. I’m finding that watching/listening to the entire video is a process, especially when they are around 50 minutes a piece.

    Cool. Eventually I’d like to get everyone down to a video per day (at most) or every other day. Having lots of mods helps! All these videos can get to be a chore if you let it, for sure.
    
    I like to watch videos when I’m cooking dinner, personally. Makes it more like regular TV, only with moar WordPress. 🙂

    @jerrysarcastic How many more times are you going to change around wp-admin? You were assigning vids, now you’re not. I had been watching the ones from PHX that you assigned earlier in the week. I was actually logged out now and am finding that I need to go back to pending and assign them. I think we need to have some structure here. If you are going to assign them, then assign them, and give that mod some time to get through them. And ask if they need help if there aren’t others there. I’ve wasted time now watching about 6 videos that are actually already posted, when I didn’t reload the tabs I had open for them. :/ So I feel like I’m having to start from scratch for every video I do.
    
    Just trying to get a solid understanding and changing ways of doing things every few days is becoming old.

    Oh, sorry AJ, I did not intend to step on your toes or frustrate you.
    
    To put things in perspective, before the last group of mods arrived, there was no structure to speak of, so we’ve had to come up with everything pretty quickly. I won’t pretend it’s perfect, and it’s something that will take all of us to build and make better. The upcoming weeks will be much smoother I assure you, and you will not see videos being reassigned like that in the future.

  @jerrysarcastic sorry if that came off a little rough. Was just mad I spent 6 hours watching videos I thought were assigned to me only to find out they were already published. :/

    No worries, I can understand why you’d be frustrated. I was concerned about getting our backlog of videos published, and I should not have lost sight of the time and effort you put into watching them.

Can the slideshow be added after the the video has been published?

  Yep, just add it to the ExcerptExcerpt An excerpt is the description of the blog post or page that will by default show on the blog archive page, in search results (SERPs), and on social media. With an SEO plugin, the excerpt may also be in that plugin’s metabox. metaMeta Meta is a term that refers to the inside workings of a group. For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. box. 🙂

    The slideshow is the thing that slows me down the most but if they can be added later I would like to set these to publish (if all else is fine) and then edit when I get the info.

    I’d rather we get the link before we publish if at all possible. I also agree it’s the hardest part. For the videos you’re reviewing, are the slides clearly visible in the video?

    These are for older WC vids, right? What camp are you moderating? With the older ones we may just *break the rules* a bit, as tracking down resources for old talks may be tougher than for current ones.

    Foe the older ones that need slides, I’m more than happy to help track those down. If you want to publish them and drop me a note or tag them, etc. I can’t always review as many vids as other mods, but happy to help out on tasks like this.

    Thanks Phil; I think we should avoid using tags, since those actually show up on the page when the video is published. A “needs slides” page is perfect. Can you create it and add it to the sidebarSidebar A sidebar in WordPress is referred to a widget-ready area used by WordPress themes to display information that is not a part of the main content. It is not always a vertical column on the side. It can be a horizontal rectangle below or above the content area, footer, header, or any where in the theme. menu?
    
    When @maharzan or I publish a retro video (or any video that has no slides) we can just add the URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org to the page. Once you’ve added the slides to the video, just strike the URL from the page.
