Call for volunteers: Meetups

Now that I’ve taken point on MeetupsMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). Learn more about Meetups in our Meetup Organizer Handbook., it’s time to get a team togther that will focus on developing a first class system for them. Initially, there will be one team, though in the future we may decide to split the work up amongst subteams.

The first task that this group is going to have is to come up with some simple guidelines (Simple being the important word) for meetupMeetup Meetup groups are locally-organized groups that get together for face-to-face events on a regular basis (commonly once a month). I don’t predict (and strong don’t want) these to be as complex, however I think it’s important to set mutual expectations between the organizers and the central account to prevent misunderstandings later on.

What I’m looking for on this team:

I’d like a diverse group of meetup organizers. Please be willing to share your ideas in a respectful manner. At least one person will hopefully know how to spell (since that is far from my strong suit if you don’t know already).

EDIT: To be clear, right now just looking for existing meetup organizers for this team. There will be plenty of opportunities for the entire community to contribute though.
