The Core Development Team builds WordPress.<\/span><\/span><\/span> AI meeting was held on August 21st, 2025:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Meeting Format:<\/strong> The meeting was an open-floor discussion with no set agenda, beginning with a welcome and check-in for attendees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Key Updates &amp; Information Sharing:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attendees were encouraged to review the weekly Core AI contributor meeting summaries for updates on the fast-paced progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three out of four Core AI team leads will be on a panel at <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>WordCamp<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>WordCamp<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they\u2019ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. <a href=\"https:\/\/central.wordcamp.org\/about\/\">Learn more<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span> US next week. Questions and discussion points for this panel were solicited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A proposal from the documentation team regarding a \u201cResponsible AI workflow for creating new documentation for WordPress 6.9\u201d was shared. The goal is to teach AI the \u201clanguage of WordPress\u201d to differentiate between WP.com, WP.org, and WordPress software. Feedback and comments on this proposal were requested.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open Floor Discussions:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>MCP Adapter<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>MCP Adapter<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Translates WordPress abilities into Model Context Protocol format, allowing AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to discover and invoke WordPress capabilities as tools, resources, and prompts.<\/span><\/span><\/span> Distribution:<\/strong> A discussion is ongoing regarding whether the MCP Adapter should be primarily distributed as a canonical <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>plugin<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Plugin<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites. WordPress plugins are written in the PHP programming language and integrate seamlessly with WordPress. These can be free in the WordPress.org Plugin Directory <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/\">https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/<\/a> or can be cost-based plugin from a third-party.<\/span><\/span><\/span> or a Composer library.
