These guidelines are helping make sure the internet is accessible to all people no matter how they would need to access the internet (screen-reader, keyboard only, etc) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WCAG21\/\">https:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WCAG21\/<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>-EM audit on the website;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>plans for February.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New documentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amber Hinds and Joe Dolson wrote and published documentation for the new <code>accessibility-ready<\/code> tag guidelines for WordPress themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/theme-guidelines\/\">Theme accessibility guidelines<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/testing\/testing-themes\/\">Testing WordPress themes for accessibility<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/documenting-accessibility\/\">Documenting accessibility<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The documentation about web forms is almost ready, new is <a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/\">Provide help<\/a>,<br>with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/copy-paste\/\">Allow copy\/paste<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/autocomplete\/\">Autocomplete<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/avoid-input-masks\/\">Avoid input patterns<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/check-correct\/\">Review, modify, undo<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/forms\/help\/valid-values\/\">Provide valid values<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">User testing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From user testing by Dutch frontent developers, we got ideas for a better organisation of the content structure. We are working on less items in the main menu and better in-page navigation to related content. That way content is better findable and can be found in multiple ways, not only by the search option or the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WCAG-EM audit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The website wpaccessibility.org got an official <a href=\"https:\/\/audits.level-level.com\/wp-accessibility\/\">WCAG-EM audit<\/a>, the site passes the audit for WCAG 2.2 AA compliance. We created an <a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/about\/accessibility-statement\/\">accessibility statement<\/a> for the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work for February \u201926<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finish the reorganisation content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a reading guide<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finish all documentation about forms, next is \u201cFocus management in forms\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start with the documentation for the section <a href=\"https:\/\/wpaccessibility.org\/docs\/topics\/content\/\">Content and images<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rian will give a presentation about the WP <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>A11y<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Accessibility<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both \u201cdirect access\u201d (i.e. unassisted) and \u201cindirect access\u201d meaning compatibility with a person\u2019s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers).
