And have somebody responsible for managing a goal, and keeping on top of all tickets pertaining to that goal. That may include asking somebody else to write it or work on it, but that person is keeping on top of that particular goal and whether it\u2019s on track.<\/p>\n<p>Start a mentor program for new contributors, teach them <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>accessibility<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Accessibility<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both \u201cdirect access\u201d (i.e. unassisted) and \u201cindirect access\u201d meaning compatibility with a person\u2019s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). (https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Accessibility)<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and have someone available to answer questions, assign a coder a \u2018mentor\u2019 to <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>ping<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Ping<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>The act of sending a very small amount of data to an end point.  Ping is used in computer science to illicit a response from a target server to test it\u2019s connection. Ping is also a term used by Slack users to @ someone or send them a direct message (DM). Users might say something along the lines of \u201cPing me when the meeting starts.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span> on <span tabindex='0' class='glossary-item-container'>Slack<span class='glossary-item-hidden-content'><span class='glossary-item-header'>Slack<\/span> <span class='glossary-item-description'>Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform <a href=\"https:\/\/slack.com\/\">https:\/\/slack.com\/<\/a>. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/chat\/\">https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/chat\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Find a way to get funding for the team. Almost all the work is done in our free time and this is part of the reason we are short of hands.\u00a0Brainstorming about funding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Crowd fund, for example Patreon.com<\/li>\n<li>WordPress Agencies<\/li>\n<li>Universities<\/li>\n<li>WordPress Foundation<\/li>\n<li>Accessibility organizations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Joe Dolson is preparing a survey regarding WP and Accessibility, so we can gather data. What AT are people using (they should complete the survey once for each combination they use with WP), their pain points, where they feel WordPress is strong\/weak, overall impressions of how WordPress has changed since they started using it including data about when they started using it, what version they\u2019re currently using, if they haven\u2019t updated,\u00a0etc\u2026<\/p>\n<h3>Tickets cleaup<\/h3>\n<p>To investigate which tikets need work and which goals we need to set\u00a0for\u00a0future releases we organize a <a href=\"https:\/\/core.trac.wordpress.org\/report\/30?sort=ticket&amp;asc=0&amp;FOCUS=accessibility\">tickets focussing accessibility<\/a> review session on Saturday.
