Hello, accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers
to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities.
The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted)
and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology(
for example, computer screen readers). (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessibility)
experts. We were recently contacted by Jeanne Spellman, one of the editors of the
w3c ATAG guidelines. The [Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) 2.0 Working Draft](http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-ATAG20-20110426/)
was published on April 26. The update is almost finished and they will be taking
comments until May 24, 2011.

They also have a companion document, [Implementing ATAG 2.0](http://www.w3.org/TR/2011/WD-IMPLEMENTING-ATAG20-20110426/)
to define how authoring tools can help developers produce accessible web content
that conforms to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAGWCAG WCAG is an acronym
for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These guidelines are helping make sure
the internet is accessible to all people no matter how they would need to access
the internet (screen-reader, keyboard only, etc) [https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/](https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/).)
2.0. It also defines how to make authoring tools accessible so that people with
disabilities can use them.

It would be great if we could try to meet the new guidelines with 3.2 as much as
we can.
