Accessibility Team meeting notes – May 1, 2020

These are the weekly notes for the AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). In preparation for WCEU 2020 contributor day, the team continued discussing the tasks that need to be addressed before the event. Most of these tasks already have an owner and progress is being made.

5.5 work updates or requests for help/feedback

@ryelle, @joedolson and @nrqsnchz continued the discussion on the Accessible Color Schemes project. It was decided to start creating mockups for high and low contrast, and light and dark color schemes.

@joedolson made the team aware of a request to present at WP Campus Online about the status of the Gutenberg accessibility audit performed last year.
