Better Support for Accessibility Issues

The support team’s weekly meetup today invited representatives from the AccessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). In the support forums, anybody can add tags to any thread – so if you see a thread that requires a11y help, be sure to add the tag so that people who monitor accessibility issues can easily find it.

In parallel with this, anybody who’s interested in helping out on the support end of WordPress accessibility issues, you can monitor the accessibility tag to watch for new issues. You can check that page periodically, or you can subscribe via RSS or email.
