Accessibillty Group Update:May 23

The group is currently focusing on gathering accessibility feedback for https://translate.wordpress.org/ This mini-project will extend until May 31 — at which point we’ll try to collate all feedback into a single, coherent, document.

In the meantime, members of the group are now carrying out standard theme reviews in the run up to starting optional theme accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers).
