Image Flow Update 19th September

Thanks everyone for attending! Here’s the video if you want to catch up. Here’s what we discussed:

1. Bulk Editing

We discussed what the purpose of bulk editing is, and what tools make sense as bulk editing tools. The ones we identified were:

  • resize
  • rotate
  • flip

2. Editing in the Editor

We discussed which tools make sense to have in the editor as opposed to only being in the modal. The ones that we identified were:

  • align
  • rotate
  • resize

I think maybe crop too, though I don’t know if that would be possible. We agreed that we should talk to the devs working with TinyMCE to see what’s possible in the editor.

3. Mobile

We discussed the mobile-first approach. We agreed that it’s always better to design for mobile first. However, we are dealing with a desktop application so we need to really think about what tools to deliver for mobile and what makes sense for desktop. How do we create a consistent experience across devices? @ryan has been documenting mobile workflows which we can dig in to learn more about the current mobile experience. We agreed that we should start working with media on our own devices to get more familiarised with the experience. @mor10 is going to document the workflow.

I’m going to be at WCEU next week and Sonia will be flying so I propose moving the meeting to the same time on Thursday. If anyone has a problem please let me know.
