Hi
I am responsible for the Swedish translation of BuddyPress. I have committed my translation files to http://i18n.svn.buddypress.org/sv_SE/ with my username t.sjogren. I tried to upload files for 1.5 nov but get authorization failed. Please assist-
Zé
Your svn write permissions were not changed. Could you try again?
-
Torbjörn Sjögren
Works now. Thanks

Göran Rudling
Dear Torbjörn,
I managed to download your translation from Glotpress. I will check it and comment to you directly.

Torbjörn Sjögren
OK

Any status on this? It looks like there is a 0% translated Swedish version of BuddyPress on https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress/1.6.x or am I missing something..? Importing the 1.5 translations there would take us up to 90% at least, no?

Got reports of wp-mail.php errors being displayed in English instead of installed language. Can’t see any errors in the sv_SE package, might it be a server specific problem or a global bug?
sv_SE uses SVN (not gp + /dist) when building packages.
-
Peter Westwood
Do you have any detail on what errors it is?
Maybe it is the POP3 error message.
-
Mattias Tengblad
Yes it is the POP3 error message.
-
Peter Westwood
Ok. Please could you open a core trac ticket for this and I will look into it.
I suspect it is a combination of the fact that some of the content of these strings isn’t translated and some of it uses
_instead of__.-
Mattias Tengblad
Will do.

Zé, can you setup Swedish for bbPress in GlotPress? Add me (damst) as a validator.
-
Mattias Tengblad
Darn, that didn’t get tagged correctly, should have been tagged request, sv_SE, bbPress
-
Zé
Done (and fixed the tags)

Mattias Tengblad
Thanks

Zé, is it just damst (me) who has validator access at wp.org for sv_SE? If not, remove everyone but me (damst) for the WordPress project. I’m the only one active.
There seems to be a problem displaying names with special characters on the credit page. The Swedish signs for åäö is shown as

Zé
jobjorn, sebastian_d and mibbo96 were removed. I’m waiting for @nacin‘s feedback on all of the credits issues.

Although, to be fair, the encoding issue sounds like a core trac ticket waiting to happen…
-
Peter Westwood
There was a core ticket for a similar issue that I looked into and @nacin referenced in the post here I believe.
-
Kenan
It’s this one:

Peter Westwood
Yeah. Turned out this was a different but similar issue

Encoding issue is now fixed in the api.

I believe that something you changed actually introduced a new issue with last character of my name (probably with other too but I don’t see them).
If my memory is good, around a week or more (which coincides with your comment) ago it was shown right in both translators and contributors to 3.2 lists. (sr_RS)

One more. Please add the user mibbo96 as a validator for WordPress for BlackBerry too. Thanks

Trying to import translations @ wpcom with no luck. Keep getting 503 and 504 errors :(
Whoops! There was a small systems error. Please try refreshing the page and if the error is still there drop us a note and let us know.
-
Mattias Tengblad
Never mind, working now.
-
Nikolay Bachiyski
It happens sometimes with large files.
-
Milan Dinić
You should give it more resources or make some workaraound, even now you can’t upload wpcom’s file, and it will just get bigger and bigger.
I needed to split file to two smaller one in order to successfully upload.

Can I request validator access for wpcom glotpress here (if there’s no validator for sv_SE already)? Or, do I need to do so at the wp.com forums?
My wpcom username: eyesx
-
Zé
.com translation forums, please? The purpose is for the other validators to see your request. Thanks.
-
Mattias Tengblad
No reply from any validator at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/swedish-validator . No one has been in contact with the Swedish team (me) (as per your post at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/on-validator-profiles-in-the-translation-platform-1?replies=1) .
So, can you hook me up Zé ?

Maybe it’s because it’s Monday, but I can’t see the logic behind this. Could you elaborate?
Mattias Tengblad 2:46 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink |
http://wpsv.se is the main reason
Ze Fontainhas 4:12 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink |
And you realize that this will break some upgrades of sites where the language is set to Swedish?
Mattias Tengblad 4:17 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink |
Really? How will the title of the locale site affect upgrades?
Mattias Tengblad 4:20 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink |
So we are clear, I’m talking about the title, not the subdomän.
Mattias Tengblad 4:23 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
subdomain ^ (some swenglish)
Ze Fontainhas 4:34 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
Got it, but I’m not sure I agree with this. “WordPress | sv_SE” is cryptic to anyone but the ones already involved. Do you mean to replace “Sverige” (the country) with “Svenska” (the language)?
Mattias Tengblad 4:43 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
Yeah, maybe a bit cryptic.
Sure, “Svenska” should work if thats more suitable.
The idea is that you shouldn’t confuse wpsv.se (WordPress Sverige) with sv.wordpress.org. These pages got the same name right now. wpsv.se is the official Swedish portal and sv.wordpress.org is acting release archive.
Ze Fontainhas 4:45 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
Ok, let’s call it “Svenska” to keep it coherent with the other sites
Mattias Tengblad 4:53 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
Ok
Ze Fontainhas 4:57 pm on August 6, 2012 Permalink
Done
