I have a question, can I add conditional formation for plurals for any line? fe. “%s new” in pl_PL in buddypress is different for different plural forms – how can I add this mechanism to some other line?

Hey, I am very dissapointed in cooperation with @waclawjacek. I have translated a lot of strings, but he still tells me that have more important things to do (wchich of course is acceptable), but some of them are waiting for acceptation for about two months. I’ve made translation of WP for Android several weeks before its release, but translated strings are still waiting for @waclawjacek’s acceptance. If there are any administators please, help to make wp available in Polish, because now it’s hard to do, and because of @waclawjacek I’ve lost my motivation.

The Polish translation contains a pl_PL.php file, which comprises a function that does month name declension. It seems such .php files aren’t used on WordPress.com, which seems reasonable from a security standpoint, but it results in month names being improperly displayed on Polish WordPress.com blogs. Is it possible to implement a system that would allow such functions after, e.g., reviewal from a WordPress.com staffer? P.S.: A “com” tag would be nice.

preg_replace()call tostr_replace(). In this case of no special patterns in the regular expression they are equivalent.

Not sure what the question is here… If the plural forms are set correctly in GlotPress, any call to the

Yes – but fe. I have http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress/dev/pl/default?filtersstatus=either&filtersoriginal_id=4675&filterstranslation_id=1686946 and I want to make conditional plural form for this depending if it is 2 years or 5 years (is “2 lata” and “5 lat” in polish)

Right, It looks like it might be a bug in the code. It’s calling
_('year')and_('years')separately, when it should be calling_n( 'year', 'years'), instead (the same applies to the subsequent lines on that function, by the way).
