    Hi,

    can I have access to http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/id_ID/ ?
It’s still forbidden for my user account.

So that I can update the shot-id_ID.png for the locale home page, and update branches, tags for the 3.1 build.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

may I ask who is the current admin / moderator of id.forums.wordpress.org? There are currently spams and disturbing posts all around that needed cleaning.
Could you please give me a higher access (since I am still a “member” in the id.forums) to bozo the spammers and delete those posts? Thanks.

    Hi,

I’ve tried to build a package for the 3.0.5 based on glotpress translation.
Checked the language folder inside the package and the PO files included inside are definitely from glotpress’ latest ver (so is the multisite PO [ms-id_ID.po]).
But the multisite MO file seems to be from the previous version (which I believe is from svn:

    http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/id_ID/branches/3.0/messages/ms-id_ID.mo).

    Am I missing something?

        No. Different issue, I’m afraid.

Here were the options used during build…
        from: translate.wordpress.org
        dist files: branches/3.0
        project: 3.0 and 3.0.x
        rev: HEAD
        ver: 3.0.5

I deleted it and rebuilt it.
This is the third time and the mo is still the old version one. 20K in size (unpacked), but when I recreate from the included PO file (from the build, and is the correct latest translated version from glotpress), the MO should be 70K in size (unpacked).

        • sofyand 12:10 am on February 24, 2011 Permalink | Reply

A similar issue with the 3.1 one,
the multisite MO built into the package doesn’t reflect the latest PO file injected to the package.

      • sofyand 12:08 pm on February 24, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Could you give me access to the SVN? http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/id_ID/
so that I can build the package from SVN instead as a temporary work-around?
Because the generated MO files both id_ID.mo & ms-id_ID.mo (which are incorrect) didn’t reflect the .po files (which are correct) being built into the package.
        Thanks.

    Hi,

could you create a new entry for “Indonesian” language on GlotPress
    for BuddyPress 1.2.x please?

Does GlotPress uses the usual http://i18n.svn.buddypress.org/id_ID/branches/1.2/ repo?
Or another one, if so, what is the address?
    Thanks.

      BP 1.2 created.

GlotPress and svn are *not* in sync or connected. Both are offered (for the moment) so that translators can choose which way they want to work and release builds. If you want them in sync, it has to be done manually.

Hi Zé, sorry for the double posting. (the previous one with the “request id_ID” tag [without comma].)

I’ve merged the translations for 3.0.x multisite: Indonesian, from various sources: Huda Toriq’s 3.0.2 strings, and the current dev 3.1 future strings (from Hendry Lee and others). It’s now 100%.

You are already a validator for ID on GlotPress. Did you mean id.wordpress.org?

    • sofyand 1:08 am on February 16, 2011 Permalink | Reply

      Hi Zé,
      yes, please. Thank you.

Since I was initially assigned to the BuddyPress id_ID project, I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries without proper permission, so hereby request access to the WordPress id_ID project, as well.

With no intention to be disrespectful to others who have contributed and are still contributing to the WP id_ID project, especially Mr. Huda Toriq.
I’ve been in contact with both Hendry Lee and QZoners regarding the recent confusion.
IMHO perhaps it’s time to elect a new team leader who is not “unreachable” (and easy to get in touch with) to coordinate things more clearly and in a timely manner?

I’ve been trying to keep up translating WP to Indonesian since September 2010 and glad to say it is finished, and now seems like the strings are freezed and ready for 3.1 since there were no additional strings in the last few days. So, I’ve kept my promise to bring Indonesian translation up to date again, including the multisite strings and Twenty Ten.

But due to an attempt to commercialize id.wordpress.org and lack of coordination from WP Polyglots (I’m sorry but the whole procedure is really a mess. The team doesn’t even know who works for what, and if they are still active or otherwise.), and other pursuits, I decided to step down as an editor.

Please remove my validator access to translate.wordpress.org and as an editor for id.wordpress.org. My userid for wp.org is hendrylee.

I’m looking forward to see WordPress 3.1 (and consecutive versions) in Indonesian as soon as it is released. Thank you, been great working with WordPress, except that one particular “incident.”

I’ll remove your validator access, but am not sure what this means:

      an attempt to commercialize id.wordpress.org

      and

lack of coordination from WP Polyglots

All discussions regarding id_ID are here http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/tag/id_id/ it seems you’re the only one working on 3.1, by choice.

      • Hendry Lee 4:53 pm on January 7, 2011 Permalink | Reply

        Lack of coordination:
Someone chimed in, translated a few strings, and admitted he had finished the translation, saying there hadn’t any progress since then, not noticing the strings were still actively working on. And obviously you didn’t know who were working on what and if they were active or otherwise. Not an offend to you personally, but as I said, the procedure itself is a mess. There’s a lot of rooms for improvement.

As the result, a few validators were contacted but not me, who were the only active validator working on trunk.

        Attempt to commercialize:
As soon as you added him, he edited the blogroll to include his commercial site to id.wordpress.org. The site had wordpress trademark in it, and soon after I noticed it, I removed it.

Yes, I did volunteer to work on the translation. What makes you think I said otherwise?

        • 5:03 pm on January 7, 2011 Permalink | Reply

No offense taken, I wasn’t talking about myself, to begin with, just making sure I understand.

No need to recap the validator discussion (as it’s public, anyway) but I’ll just point out that discussions are indeed public and that the situation above could have been avoided, on your request, without further ado.

I don’t know what you mean by “a few validators were contacted but not me”. By whom and in regard to what issues? All contact is done on this P2, not outside of it.

I agree with you that the procedure (as, I suspect, *any* procedure) has lots of room for improvement. However, the motto across most open-source projects, and most certainly WordPress, is “patches welcome”. All of us will gladly debate ideas for improvement. Saying it could be better doesn’t really help further the conversation.

That said, I respect your choice.

          • Hendry Lee 5:23 pm on January 7, 2011 Permalink | Reply

You want specifics? He contacted a few other validators to ask for permissions to become an editor via email, but not me… I didn’t know why, perhaps you know better. And that happened outside P2. http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/tag/id_id/ has all the conversations about that.

Even with that, he should’ve known the trunk translation was actively worked on. When he chimed in, he practically translated one and a half pages of strings and called it done… claiming that no one was working on Indonesian translation since 2.9.2.

All of us will gladly debate ideas for improvement. Saying it could be better doesn’t really help further the conversation.

Let’s call this discussion an end. Obviously the whole /tag/id_ID/ has lots of practical ideas for improvement, just that the debate that you said would happen, obviously didn’t.

            • 5:55 pm on January 7, 2011 Permalink

Discussions about id_ID are to be had between the members of id_ID. We don’t decide who is in command, unless we don’t get feedback for a while (as in Huda’s case, which you certainly remember). If you felt @QZoners oughtn’t be validating, you just needed to say so explicitly.

              But, ok.

            • Hendry Lee 6:19 pm on January 7, 2011 Permalink

I didn’t know I could do that. After all, I was not listed as somone to ask first to approve a new validator. A fresh list of contacts, in my opinion, is one big improvement to the process, especially as more people volunteer to work on each translation.

Completely separate thing, as a record for new editor: I am maintaining a small non-profit WP Indonesia page at Facebook. It is linked from id.wordpress.org. If new editor is going to take over this page, I’m more than happy to grant admin access. Otherwise if nobody wants to maintain it, I’d just delete the page.

My contact is: hendry [dot] lee [at] gmail [dot] com

              Thanks.

maaf cuma agak kurang paham bagaimana masalahnya

    Cannot copy /tmp/rosettauOITD0/id_ID/dist/readme.html to /tmp/rosettaARAiFz/wordpress!

When I try again, the error change into:

    Cannot create directory /tmp/rosettatqHrWq/wordpress/wp-admin!

Is it only admin can build release version? How if my admin doesn’t active anymore?

What WE are working on for months is the TRUNK, not the 3.0.x branch. And even with that, we are still actively working on the multisite strings for the dev branch. Both 3.0 and 3.0.x strings for WP and WP Multisite are untouched.

So please don’t create a release YET.

Zé: We have been working for months on translating the strings. Now why someone out of the blue, approved a few strings, and wanted to create a release? And why didn’t I get a notice about this first?

        Hello,
I’m new editor in WordPress Indonesia. The admin has not update WordPress since 2.9. So, I want to release the 3.0.2 version for Indonesian Language. Please see my story below so you know what is really happen in Indonesian

        • Hendry Lee 10:53 am on December 2, 2010 Permalink | Reply

It was Huda who was not updating the site since 2.9.

I and my wife have been working since September to make quality release happen again in 3.1. I am currently an active validator and maintainer of id.wordpress.org.

          http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2010/09/18/ive-been-working-with-my-wife-to-trans/

Now you jumped in, approved a few strings, and said you’ve finished the translation. Really. Why didn’t I get notification about this, like the other validator?

Don’t get me wrong. The more people helping, the merrier.

Just that it is NOT ready for release yet. My wife has been working on multistrings on WP 3.1 dev. Please recheck her work and approve them before you try to create a release.

I just want to make sure we got a HIGH quality release here.

Do you mean we just let 3.0.2 go? I’ve send email to info@jalarama.com let’s finish it

          • Hendry Lee 11:46 am on December 2, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Not by all means. Due to restriction in human resources, we have to target 3.1 (to underpromise and deliver high quality release and translation) instead of overpromise. And if we still have time, we are going to consider 3.0.x branch.

But your work on making 3.0.2 release is premature. The strings are NOT yet done. Please don’t make any release just for the sake of making one.

If you insist, please work on the multisite strings first. Both of us can make them done quicker.

I gave it a try and got a different error:

The default key in dist/wp-config-sample.php does’t match $wp_default_secret_key in id_ID.php. The one in the sample config is:

      letakkan frase unik anda disini

and the one in id_ID.php is:

letakkan frase unik anda di sini
      • Hendry Lee 2:34 pm on December 2, 2010 Permalink | Reply

        The latter is correct grammatically.

I still suggest that we put off creating a release until we got multisite strings ready.

        • Nikolay Bachiyski 2:36 pm on December 2, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Both strings must be the same. Choose one of them and use it at both places.

          • Hendry Lee 2:41 pm on December 2, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Exactly why I think a release is premature at this stage. It needs a recheck. And multisite strings.
