Hello everyone,
is there a team working on italian translation for bbpress?
I am working on a couple of projects including forums and started to translate it for my own use, then I decided to do things as they should be done and headed to GlotPress, but I see that it_IT translation is only at 30% and there are many suggested translations and a lot of untranslated.
I would like to help, but it seems that there is no one validating.-

I just translated a bunch of new strings for /dev. Hope someone will validate them, so Italian can go up in the ranking
It would be very useful to be able to download not only a .po containing “current” string, but also one containing “waiting” strings, at least the ones translated by yourself. It is very difficult to test the translation without being able to use it.

@Nabil: Yes, I know, but if I want to try my translation in a live environment I have to copy lines one by one in a new language file and upload it to my server.
It would be great to be able to download a .po file updated with newly translated strings, even if they are unconfirmed.

No, I just keep forgetting that bbPress.pot isn’t automatically loaded to Translate. Now updated, 88 new strings were added, 902 existing were updated.

Hi, unfortunately nobody is validating the italian translation for BBpress even though it is ready (http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x) I guess we need a new validator as the person in charge for the italian language seem not to be doing much, otherwise it is pointless having this project in place. Can anybody advise? Thanks

For long time nobody take care of it an no contribution was done.. I’m happy to know there is a translation full ready and i’m going to approve it. U can contact me and we coudl arrange a way to have a more often approval cycle… unfortunatly the platform actually didn’t send any warning to validators about new translation waiting.. and life is short and busy and sometimes people forgot to checkl it.

I approved thall the translation waiting.. but… the project IT’S NOT READY cause there are still 658 untralsated strings… i approvede alla the translated strings even if iI do not agree on some translations.. like keppeing Posting untraslated when Pubblicazione would be better… but after we got a full translation single translations can be improved in the future.

There isn’t any strings in bbPress 2.2.x at GlotPress. I translated the development version and inserted it into current version but many strings still in English.-

Hi I was wondering is there a way to determine what version of BBpress is currently in the GlotPress? Because I can see it’s behind.
I’m trying to complete the Dutch one but in the refrence files I see its referencing wrong (thus old?) folders like `bb-admin` instead of `admin`.

The string is up to date to current version. I updated the translation several weeks ago. Sometimes some strings indicate wrong position such as wrong line number. I haven’t seen wrong folders. I think it’s because the developers are busy to correct them.

okay..Different angle.
When I download the whole bbPress plugin it comes with a `.pot` file it has 952 entries.
The GlotPress has 927 as kan be seen with 100% translated languages. -

Current version is (was) /trunk, but it wasn’t clear. I’ve now created both the Development and the 2.2.x projects, below bbPress.
Originals have been imported from the corresponding repository locations, but (just) 2.2.x will need to be have the previous translations imported in.

Like I said, we have finished the translation and we have the complete Arabic version of the latest plugin up and running on http://good-themes.com/forums.
I really do not see the point of you doing the translation again. It would be such a waste of time and effort. You can concentrate on WordPress 3.5 instead.

Hi there!
I’m about to translate bbpress into Spanish, I need to do it for a project I’m currently working on. I just checked http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin and saw that the plugin has been translated up to an 58%, so I think my contribution could be valuable.
I will search for guidelines, glossaries, etc. and start using GlotPress. If there is any other tool to ease the process, or any other information I should be aware of, please let me know.

You can contribute by translating in GlotPress, and the moderators will approve your strings ASAP.
If you want to contribute or get in touch directly, you can use http://es.forums.wordpress.org/forum/traducciones-es_es
You can use Poedit if you are not comfortable with GlotPress (but I recommend you to use it, because it’s the standard for WP) and then ask a moderator to import your translation into GlotPress.

Hi Rafael, thanks for the tips. I’ve been using Poedit to translate bbpress, I previously used it for Drupal. I will probably end up sending the .po file to a moderator since it would be a daunting task translating all texts all over again.
