Since forums translations are now taken from GlotPress, are the rosetta/ directories in locales’ SVN repos now redundant? To be precise, I mean the support-forum.po and support-forum.po files. (And if so, can the entire directories be removed?)

Locale site changes being in progress, can I request some kind of menu bar synchronization between locale sites and locale forums, so that the menu is the same on the forums? At http://pl.wordpress.org/ we have a link to the forums in the main menu, but if you click it, you get an entirely new main menu, provided by bbPress. Can this be changed somehow?

I’m working on something along these lines, but note that anything I do will only be temporary. Moving everything over to bbPress 2.0 is the priority, and that will bring with it a unified header.

I merged the headers themselves — site title, design, etc. Not yet there on the menu. Unfortunately it is not something that is feasible (especially to keep them sync’d) until we move to bbPress 2.0. But I hope that can happen in the next month.

It’s not very clear what licence the translations fall under, judging from the PO file headers generated by GlotPress. It’s also not clear what the project is, though the PO files probably aren’t published anywhere aside from the translation packages. Another thing is that there should be a notice saying “by submitting your translations you agree that you’re licensing them under the GNU GPL” or a checkbox that you mark upon registration, so that the translations are actually licenced to be distributed with WordPress.

Do we have to manually import translations into the 3.5.x branch? And should we release 3.5.1 from “3.5.x” or “Development”? (Just making sure.)

I already imported translations into the 3.5.x branch for all translation teams, so you should not have to change any strings or do any imports. (But please check.)
Definitely release 3.5.1 from 3.5.x. There has already been development and string activity in 3.6.

Not so much, but it’s only my own opinion. It is not clear what people are donating to and how that affects the translation effort. I’d consider setting up a community site, if you don’t already have one, and accept and explain the donation logic there.

I don’t know if they should be translated, or not, but in the hungarian version we do translate them.

I should probably remove them from makepot. There’s no need to translate them. We don’t actually display the list of tags for a theme in the UI anymore, but if we did, WP_Theme intersects a theme’s tags with the list of official tags you already translate for the theme installer, and then uses those localized strings.

The “Main menu” feature in “Tools” menu of Rosetta should probably be removed, as it’s been superseded by the “Menu” feature in “Design”. (Isn’t it used as a fallback in some cases though?)
