  There is no information anywhere about how to get svn write access to http://i18n.svn.buddypress.org/. Very sad, and i guess that’s why many languages files don’t end up there. (E.g. fresh versions off Finnish and Italian are only available elsewhere).

      Only official translators and validators have access to svn for all but buddypress on translate.wordpress.org for Italian projects I’m the main validator and i have access to SVN. Cause both can be used to generate locale versions that’s why anyone can’t have write access. Use http://translate.wordpress.org/projects if you want to contribute to a lnguages in any project and validators will check ur translation and correction aproving it or not. Usually i accept lot of translation the refused one are for inconsistency o already y translated strings or some words bad used or literal translation from a language to another with different structure (ex. click not translated in clic in italian or post not translated as articolo). http://translate.wordpress.org/projects is the best way for all people that like to contribute. For some project i’m not the only one that approve translation cause a user have done a good big work (ex android app) and he can now translate and approve other’s translations cause i’m sure of the quality

        While on the subject, do the .po files from http://translate.wordpress.org/projects end up in svn by any chance automatically?

          They are not, nor should you rely on svn for anything as it’s being phased out for languages. See http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/18960 to read how it is starting to change.

      you can request svn write access here opening new post and request tag. For more information, see sidebar links under Pages. The most important thing is you use appropiate tag for your post, this make appropiate person to response.

        Thx for the info! If that is the case, can info about thatprocedure be added to visible places? Even http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/ just has non-working links.

        If it’s hard or impossible to find it’s not like people will bother…

          http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/translators-handbook-draft/ points to a new draft. Svn permissions were intentionally left out, see http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/2012/10/26/there-is-no-information-anywhere-about-how-to/#comment-45868
