Hi, I’m not sure if I don’t have the right permissions or just don’t know how to do it.
Can I get @sendhilp added to https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios with permissions to upload originals?

Can I get permissions to do it myself, or should I post here when needed?

Thanks

Hi we’re getting ready to release the next…

Hi, we’re getting ready to release the next version of WordPress for iOS. I’ve uploaded some new strings at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios/dev

#ios, #mobile

Translation counts are off in http translate wordpress…

Translation counts are off in https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios/dev

For instance:

  • Spanish shows 100% (280 stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.), which is accurate
  • Hebrew shows 100% (282 strings), but when you click on it you see 1 untranslated

Last time I imported originals (3 obsolete strings, 1 new) the numbers didn’t change until I translated the new Spanish stringString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings.. Any ideas?

It makes me sad to see time wasted…

It makes me sad to see time wasted on WPiOS translations that won’t see the light, since the list of languages supported on iOSiOS The operating system used on iPhones and iPads. is way smaller than those available on glotpressGlotPress GlotPress is the translation management software that powers Translate.WordPress.org. More information is available at glotpress.org. (e.g. Tamil, Bosnian, Irish, …).

What I’d do is take the following list, and make sure it matches https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios/dev. Then no new translation is added unless a future iOS update brings new languages.

Supported languages (as displayed on GlotPress):

  • Arabic
  • Catalan
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • German
  • Greek
  • English
  • English (UK)
  • Spanish
  • Finnish

  • Korean
  • Malay
  • Norwegian (Bokmål)
  • Dutch

Hello polyglots After a long wait the next…

Hello polyglots! After a long wait, the next release of WordPress for iOSiOS The operating system used on iPhones and iPads. will have translations.
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios/dev

We already have started translating to some languages like es or sv, but it’d be nice if some of the usual translators for those languages could review for consistency. And of course, new languages are more than welcome 🙂
