Hi there 🙂

With the release of 3.9.2 and others (https://wordpress.org/news/2014/08/wordpress-3-9-2/), I wonder if we will need to manually build the local packages?

Cheers,

I read that WordPress 3.8.3 is out.

Shall we build our packages or it will be handled automatically like it was done for 3.7.2?

Cheers,
Gabriel

Hi, I could use some help to solve the issue that is preventing me for building the pt_BR package.

I keep getting messages like this:

Impossível copiar /tmp/rosetta05NvTA/pt_BR/dist/wp-config-sample.php para /tmp/rosettabC6ccJ/wordpress!

Thanks in advance,
Gabriel

Hi When can we please have a solution…

Hi,

When can we please have a solution for automatic upgrades not erase the translation of default themes?

This is somewhat embarassing, seems fresh installs are preferred than automatic upgrades.

By erasing I mean that the .po filesPO files PO files are human readable files which contain translations we use. These files are not used by WordPress itself. Each language will have its own PO file, for example, for French there would be a fr_FR.po file, for german there would be a de_DE.po, for British English there might be en_GB.po. are missing after one upgrades the themes like Twenty Twelve.

This is another long standing issue 🙁

Gabriel

Hi I am making a build for 3.1…

Hi,

I am making a build for 3.1, pt-BR

Could someone assure me that my actions are correct?

1. Create a new tag for 3.1 (/i18nInternationalization Internationalization (sometimes shortened to I18N , meaning “I - eighteen letters -N”) is the process of planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be adapted to specific local languages and cultures, a process called localization. This is the process of making software translatable. Information about Internationalization for developers can be found in the Developer’s handbooks./tags/3.1) with the same files from 3.0.5
2. Check on tracTrac Trac is the place where contributors create issues for bugs or feature requests much like GitHub.https://core.trac.wordpress.org/. for changes from previous version, add/translate the changes and commit the files
3. Make the build with the following options
translations from: translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins.
LocaleLocale Locale = language version, often a combination of a language code and a region code, for instance es_MX denotes Spanish as it’s used in Mexico. A list of all locales supported by WordPress in https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/teams/ Branch: tags/3.1
Project: Development(Trunk)
WordPress Revision: 17370 – that is where I am not sure <—————————————-
Version: 3.1

Hi Zé,

I am using the current development version at a test site, and wonder how does one gets to use the current stringsString A string is a translatable part of the software. A translation consists of a multitude of localized strings. from translate.wordpress.orgtranslate.wordpress.org The platform for contributing to the translation of WordPress core, themes and plugins.?

Made a build (3.1-RC4-17434) to try to use the .mo filesMO files MO, or Machine Object is a binary data file that contains object data referenced by a program. It is typically used to translate program code, and may be loaded or imported into the GNU gettext program. This is the format used in a WordPress install. These files are normally located inside .../wp-content/languages/ under wp-content/languages, but with not luck. Even with those, the test site still shows some untranslated strings.

Is this something feasible?

Obrigado,
Gabriel

Hi,

I would like to help building the pt_BR packages.

Seems that I need an user to br.wordpress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/, is that correct?

Cátia told me that I should tag this post as request, so here it is done.

Thanks in advance,
Gabriel Reguly
