For BuddyPress, please can a 1.7 subproject be created from the current dev subproject? Thanks.

Howdy polyglots,
BuddyPress 1.7 is now in Release Candidate 1 (read our announcement) and we are now in string freeze for the translations.

BuddyPress 1.6 is due for imminent release. Please create a sub project for 1.6 on http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress (or whatever you need to do to manage translations going forwards). Thanks.

Can this done before we make a string change to trunk, please?

Now done, sorry for the delay.
Just a quick note: it is not enough to create the project in Translate, import the initial originals and set up the languages (which is my bit). More importantly, changes also need to be done to the shell script that regularly scans the code in the BuddyPress repository and updates Translate with new strings (which is @nacin‘s bit). That is also taken care of, now.

Heads up for people who contribute BuddyPress translations: BuddyPress 1.6 RC1 has just been released and strings are frozen.

About an hour after that was released, someone found 2 strings with invalid textdomains. The fault was mine, and we fixed them quickly. The core team decided to update the 1.6-RC1 rather than create another RC so soon after.
So if you downloaded 1.6-RC1 in the first hour of its release, please re-download via the same link. If you’re downloading it from the first time now, you don’t need to do anything.

Done, sorry for the delay (we’ll need @nacin‘s help to make the import script BP1 1.7-aware)

Done. Strings will be imported within the hour.
