I understand that it’s not worth translating the files of the current version, used in some WP locale sites. Or, anyway, we can translate it to get the translation memories later?
I will try to be up to date, to minimize delays on gl_ES translation, while I continue to carry the role of administrator.

In that case I’d invest my time in translating the bbPress plugin, which is what will be ultimately implemented.
