We have a little problem with the community forum of galician translators. Currently we are using a BuddyPress support forum thread: http://buddypress.org/support/forum/plugin-forums/wordpress-en-galego/
Paul Gibbs have sent us this notice:
“Why are we discussing translation of WordPress on the BuddyPress.org support forums?
This is probably better discussed on your WordPress.org i18n site, or on http://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/.”
Our community is very small and has few contributions lately. Today we only have time to do some work on the translations of WordPress. The translation of BuddyPress and other additions are waiting, and we don’t know when we will be able to take them again.
Until now, maybe by carelessness or lack of time, we have no forum in the galician WordPress i18n site.
Under this circumstances, we continue to work as before, waiting for better times with complete translations and enough time to have a forum on our WordPress i18n site.
I contact polyglots forum in order to see what we need to have updated site and forum.
When I have an answer, I will post in the galician translators BuddyPress site, in order to leave the BuddyPress thread as soon as possible, when any of the Contributors commit to undertake the changes.

Hi,
The es_ES group work together in a yammer group, and before we were using a google groups. Every environment is good to get the work done, don’t wait for anything “official”

The site http://gl.wordpress.org still exists and you are its admin. As to forums, we are moving to the bbPress plugin on rosetta sites, but not quite there yet. I agree that debating translations on BuddyPress’ main forum is not ideal, and would recommend, for now, to use a bbPress installation of your own, or some other solution, like a Google Group.

Howdy! I didn’t mean to be rude on the BuddyPress forums, I hope I was not misunderstood; it just seemed odd to talk about WordPress translations on the BuddyPress forum.
If you need a place to talk BuddyPress translations, please see http://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/spent-some-time-today-cleaning-up-the-many/

You didn’t seem rude, certainly not. Don’t worry.
Sure that it seems odd, especially when you work daily in the development of WordPress and BuddyPress and you are aware of the developments that arose. We, however, have very little activity since early 2012.
From our point of view, we find ourselves something misplaced. We are few translators, with not much time to devote to this projects. Every time we want to focus on the translation work we find some changes in the platform that involves adding more work to what we already have until complete our mission.
I have access to gl.buddypress.org, but we still have to decide who will take care of projects from now. There are many unknowns. For now, we want to finish the translation of WordPress 3.5 and upgrade the trunk. Regarding the renewal of platforms and translations of plugins and other flavours, we have to wait for new managers of galician translation team (when they appear) to express their goals.
I will pass on your recommendations to the rest of collaborators, to see if anyone takes care of it.
Thanks a lot.
