Hi everyone! We have finalized the strings for the upcoming release of WordPress for iOS. It would be very helpful to us if you guys could translate the new strings.
Note: There’s a few new strings that have some funny naming conventions and formatting. It’s important to leave the special placeholder characters when you translate.
- “%@ commented on %@: n%@” is for a comment notification that has a post title, ex: “David commented on Day at the Fair: This was a great post!”
- “Comment from %1$@: n%3$@” is for a comment notification that has no pos title, ex: “Comment from David: This was a great post!”
The iOS translation project can be found here: http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/ios/dev
Thanks for your help, and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, would you be able to add Irish to the list?
Also, any localization in the future for the Windows Phone app?
Thanks!

The Windows Phone app is already localized: http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wordpress-for-windows-phone/development
I added Irish to both projects. Thanks!

…Also, do you know who (if anyone) is currently a moderator for Irish on WordPress.org? I’m a moderator for the WordPress.com one, but have no idea what the deal is with .org… My impression is that the .org translation is kind of far behind, if it’s even been touched in a while.

If you mean WordPress core, no active translation effort exists for Irish (no http://ga.wordpress.org, either). Would you be interested in gathering a team and tackling it?
Brian 5:13 pm on May 2, 2012 Permalink
Yeah I think I could do that (i.e., WordPress.org / core, Rosetta [that’d be for ga.wordpress.org, right?], and even Android and BlackBerry).

Great. And yes, rosetta is for ga.wordpress.org. It’s also not a bad idea to recruit help, there are lots of strings. Hold tight while I set you up.

Hi, it doesn’t look like Irish is supported on iOS: http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2011/06/02/when-requesting-creating-new-translations-for-wordpress-for/

Oh, yeah. I didn’t think to check if the language was supported on iOS. My bad

WordPress for iOS – Tamil (Sri Lanka) has been translated completely. Please include it in the upcoming release.
