  I’ll throw out a couple to get it started:

  • Number of words added/deleted
  • Number of contributors touching each doc
  • Number of words per person (plus high/low/average)
  • Number of visits per doc/page
  • Number of yes/no votes on each doc page (pretend we have one of those “Did this doc answer your question” forms at the bottom of each page)

  • Average number of contributor edits
  • Average number of doc edits
  • Average number of contributors per doc
  • Number of new docs started for each new release
  • Number of internal links to other docs
  • Number of words in the Help tabs
  • Number of changed lines/words in Help tabs for every release

  Some of these may be impossible, but you said no limits

  • number of people who edit the Codex once and never do it again
  • number of people who visit the information on editing the Codex vs people who actually edit
  • number of comments in discussions on the P2 (see how active that person is)
  • number of accurate edits to the Codex
  • number of inaccurate edits to the codex
  • type of doc contributor – edits & fixes typos, updates docs, writes new docs, improves internal linking, updates developer docs, updates user docs etc
  • number of new codex pages created by a contributor
  • total number of new codex pages per month/year
  • number of deprecated codex pages
  • number of deleted codex pages
  • number of codex pages that are out of date and should be deleted
  • number of codex pages that need to be updated
  • number of function pages in codex requiring examples
  • number of handbook/other doc pages created
  • number of handbook/other doc pages edited
  • number of handbook/other doc pages proofread
  • number of inline doc patches in core
  • number of documentation/content patches in core (i.e. help tabs, field labeling etc)
