This week in Twenty Sixteen

The usual meetings at 16:00 UTC have been held in #core-themes on Monday and Fridays. There was a slightly longer meeting this week to work through issues and pull requests.

Twenty Sixteen looks good for a merge to coreCore Core is the set of software required to run WordPress. The Core Development Team builds WordPress. at the end of the month. We have 10 issues with most having pull request or actions associated with them.

There is one pull request that will be added right before core merge. This is due to our sync. Once the theme is merged to core we will be changing the minimum version required to reflect that.

The accessibilityAccessibility Accessibility (commonly shortened to a11y) refers to the design of products, devices, services, or environments for people with disabilities. The concept of accessible design ensures both “direct access” (i.e. unassisted) and “indirect access” meaning compatibility with a person’s assistive technology (for example, computer screen readers). (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accessibility) team have done their tests and reported back. Each point is now going to be worked through and issues raised as they come up.
