The Codex is now authenticating against the normal wordpress.org usernames and passwords. Old codex username and password combinations will now no longer work.
Note: I fully expect this to have a few issues. Please email me directly about any problems you find. Put “CODEX” in your subject line.
Note 2: If you previously had your codex username as something different than your normal forum username and you want to preserve your editing history and such, email me as well. I can rename your old username and correct the issue. I’ll need to know what your username on the codex used to be and what your new username from the wordpress.org forums is.

Note 3: Yes, cookies aren’t working fully. This will be resolved when the forum upgrades are complete across the Extend sections as well.

Pain free; plop-plop fizz-fizz. Was in there earlier this afternoon and noticed not the slightest glitch.

Fixed an issue where users with underscores in their names couldn’t log in.

Man I hate underscores.

I know, right? Stupid things just lie there, thinking they’re better than everyone else.
Matt 10:28 pm on July 13, 2010 Permalink
They’re shifty. (Ha!)

was all my fault.

Thanks Otto. Hopefully this will lead to more people updating the codex.

I tried to access Codex and I got “Failed to get ID from name ‘dimadin’” although I’m not logged in on wp.org (though I was). When I deleted cookies, I could access and login.
One suggestion: note that is shown at bottom of homepage could be added to login page too since I doubt people will find it easily.

Getting the same thing when trying to access the Codex… will go delete some cookies but I wonder if this is happening to anybody who was logged in prior? hmmm…
Otto 5:32 pm on July 15, 2010 Permalink
Yeah, a couple other people had the same thing. I think that older cookies before the change might cause a problem in a rare few cases. Clicking the log out link or clearing cookies will correct it immediately.

No issue for me when I used it a few days ago. Good stuff
