I made some changes to the WP.org homepage to make the text more user-centric, Kathy Sierra style.
I also removed the “report site bugs” contact form until we can have that go someplace more useful.

In the interim where should people report site bugs? I’ve used it a few times in the past myself. Would the forum be the correct place?

Use the WordPress.org component on Trac: http://core.trac.wordpress.org/report/26

Thanks Matt, will do.

Suggestion, if you and others related to WordPress are going to keep using WP.org as a shorthand, why not go ahead and buy it from the squatter?
Matt 9:22 pm on July 8, 2010 Permalink
I don’t think we can afford it.
Matt 9:27 pm on July 8, 2010 Permalink
But contact me offline (well, email) if you think we could have a real shot at it.

Buy it and donate it to the project, Mike.

@Matt How would I know if you would have a real shot at it? Maybe if a 3rd party approached them they wouldn’t be so greedy. Want me to?
@Alex M. LOL! Someone’s assuming I’m flush with cash or something?

Sure let me know what you find out offline.

I emailed him and will let you know what, and if I learn.
BTW is there any way to get P2 to remember my name/email/website so I don’t have to retype every time? I’m on Mac OS X Safari and if P2 was designed to set cookies for that they are not working for me.

P2 handles cookies like any other WordPress blog, so not sure why they’re not working for you. But you can log into a dotcom account and that will prevent the required data entry.
EDIT: I win.
Alex M. 6:04 pm on July 9, 2010 Permalink
@Mike: It should remember your details just fine. Try clearing your cookies.
An alternative is to make a WP.com account and log into that.
EDIT: Grr, too slow!
