After a conversation with @emanuelblagonic in which the question was how to create invoices for ticket sales, I have created a generic ticket invoice template that can be used for all WordCamps based on the one that we used for WordCampWordCamp WordCamps are casual, locally-organized conferences covering everything related to WordPress. They're one of the places where the WordPress community comes together to teach one another what they’ve learned throughout the year and share the joy. Learn more. London.

I have added in comments down the side with the details that you will want to update.

As WordCamp organisers, we would update the file with the correct details and then download it as a PDF. We ( WordCamp London) had a dropbox folder where we kept all created invoices for our paper trail and then attached a copy of the PDF to an email that was then sent to the recieptant.

Let’s say a local not for profit wants to buy a large blockBlock Block is the abstract term used to describe units of markup that, composed together, form the content or layout of a webpage using the WordPress editor. The idea combines concepts of what in the past may have achieved with shortcodes, custom HTML, and embed discovery into a single consistent API and user experience. 20+ tickets. how would we using this system actually make that work?

  Generally I’d recommend asking companies and people to use the online interface and pay through Camptix as much as possible. But if you just HAVE to use an invoice, then I’d say, send the invoice and then create a reservation for that many tickets, and share the secret URLURL A specific web address of a website or web page on the Internet, such as a website’s URL www.wordpress.org with the company once they’ve paid their invoice. How did you all do it in London, @miss_jwo?

    Couple of people from different companies asked us for the Invoice, nevertheless they bought their tickets via Camptix & PayPal. We will send them the invoice like @miss_jwo suggested (we have our template that looks much the same). Will send more information if we happen to have some issues with that.

      At WC London, all tickets were brought via CampTix, if anyone needed a invoice for their books, then we told them to email us with a request and then send an email with a PDF invoice attached. The document i linked, is the template we would use.
      
      We also had a dropbox folder of invoices we created to ensure that we kept tabs on which invoice number we were up to.

        infact, now im thinking about it, it would be great if invoices were auto generated to include a PDF which was downloadable after a camptix sale with the invoice number linked to the camptix sales number… Maybe this can be added as a feature request if people think its useful.

        It sounds useful to us, but I’m not an expert on accounting and we should take special care about invoice numbers since we use the same system as @miss_jwo used for WC Londong with invoices being sent to sponsors and those who requested it after the payment with Camptix + PayPal was being made.

        @emanuel_blagonic, Thats why we use dropbxo to track all invoices that were sent out, Thats also why a generated ticket based on camptix id or some other unique identifier would be used if you were to automate the invoicing.
        
        Anyhow, just ideas to improve the annoyance of writing invoices. I’m sure if we did decide to auto-generate these we would ask an accountcant to review the invoices made first.

    That’s exactly the process I we planning on following. Sadly the UN is pretty stogy and I think invoice is the only way they’ll do it…
