So it begins. 🙂 A team member of de.wordpress.orgWordPress.org The community site where WordPress code is created and shared by the users. This is where you can download the source code for WordPress core, plugins and themes as well as the central location for community conversations and organization. https://wordpress.org/ just received this e-mail:

Sehr geehrter Herr […],
einer Ihrer Mitglieder “medizinguru.wordpress.comWordPress.com An online implementation of WordPress code that lets you immediately access a new WordPress environment to publish your content. WordPress.com is a private company owned by Automattic that hosts the largest multisite in the world. This is arguably the best place to start blogging if you have never touched WordPress before. https://wordpress.com/” hat ohne Namensnennung mein Foto in seinen Banner veröffentlicht, es handelt sich um Rosen.
Bitte kontaktieren Sie den Nutzer der Webseite und fordern ihn auf es sofort zu ändern.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Dear Mr […]
one of your members “medizinguru.wordpress.com” published my photo in his banner without due credit, it is those roses.
Please contact the user of the website and ask them to change it immediately.

Speaking from experience with the German legal system, more of that can be expected in the future, and—far more important—writings of greater legal impact than the friendly one cited above.

For this one, we’ve pointed the person to http://de.wordpress.com/complaints/.
For the future, it would be great if we could add a page with legal info of wordpress.org to our Rosetta site. Like who runs w.org, who is legally accountable etc., so those e-mails don’t have to be dealt with by our team members.

Though it seems to be a Polyglots issue, I am posting this here, because I’m faithfully counting on @andreamiddleton and @jenmylo to advise. 😉

Thanks!
