I have been experimenting with the closed captioned software Amara and this was the video I am captioning.

I need to sync it and it will be finished. I can post the link as soon as I finish.

  When you start playing the video, there should be a new dropdown menu along the top, to the right of “Share”, that contains a list of all the languages available. See http://wordpress.tv/2013/07/29/matt-mullenweg-qa-from-the-state-of-the-word-2013/ for an example.
  
  It doesn’t look like there are any TTML files attached to Mika’s video. Could you try uploading it again? Let me know if you get an error or anything. Note that you have to rename the .dfxp file from Amara to .ttml in order for it to work.

    I see the subtitle menu on the video but no subtitles appear. Only a little black box.

      I see the TTML file was uploaded, and the contents look good, and it’s mapped to the MP4. So, I think everything is fine now as far as that goes.
      
      I’m also seeing the little black black box, but I think that’s actually an unrelated bug. It’s happening on other videos, too, and we’re looking into it. Once we fix it, I think the subtitles for Mika’s video will start working.

        It does seem to run words together at certain places.
        
        Like “youshouldn’t” instead of “you shouldn’t” in the first line. This does not happen in the original.
        
        It looks like it does this when there’s a break in the line of the original.

        The line break bug is fixed now, but since it occurred when the file is being converted during the upload process, the files will need to be re-uploaded in order to be fixed. I went ahead and did Mika’s.

I reuploaded most of them. I couldn’t find Nikolay’s WCSF talk on Amara, and I’m waiting to hear back from Mark Jaquith, since he customized his a bit before uploading.
